Hi there! I am Maddie Fitzmorris, a dedicated Graphic Design BFA graduate from Louisiana State University as of May 2024! With a strong foundation in design principles and proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, photography, and illustration and I have honed my skills through various experiences. I am a proficient graphic designer with a wealth of practical knowledge, stemming from my roles at LSU UREC, LSU Reveille, and my freelance photography and graphic design work. These experiences have not only broadened my design capabilities but have also reinforced my adaptability and creativity, making me a well-rounded and versatile graphic designer ready to take on new challenges.

This May I have graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. I received Cum Laude Honors, the Distinguished Communicator Medal and Certificate, and am now a member of Tau Sigma Delta Art honors Society. I couldn't have done it without the love and support of my friends and family as well as the extraordinary people I have met working and learning at LSU. As well as a big thank you to Richard Doubleday Ph.D. who was my faculty advisor and Josef Horacek who was my CxC supervisor in earning my Distinguished Communicator Medal. I hope to use my art powers for good in this world and I am so excited to see where this path takes me!

LSU University Recreation

At LSU University Recreation, I had the privilege of serving as a Graphic Designer on the dynamic and collaborative marketing team. Working alongside six talented individuals, I contributed to a wide array of creative projects that played a pivotal role in promoting the university's recreational activities and events. My primary responsibilities included designing eye-catching digital signage, captivating advertisements, engaging social media posts and stories, appealing merchandise visuals, and distinctive logos. These elements were instrumental in creating a cohesive and appealing brand identity for LSU University Recreation, capturing the essence of the vibrant campus community and its diverse array of activities. In addition to day-to-day design tasks, I was also involved in managing monthly marketing initiatives. This entailed keeping a finger on the pulse of emerging design trends and ensuring our campaigns remained fresh and relevant. My time at LSU University Recreation not only enhanced my design skills but also provided me with valuable experience working as part of a collaborative team, honing my ability to communicate with colleagues to bring our creative visions to life. This experience was instrumental in helping me further develop as a Graphic Designer and contributed to the successful promotion of LSU's recreational offerings.

At the LSU Reveille Student Newspaper, I served as a Graphic Designer, specializing in the creation of illustrations for student-authored articles and contributing to the newspaper's brand identity through marketing materials. My role also involved fulfilling various design requests, both in print and digital formats, enhancing the visual appeal of the newspaper's content and reinforcing its distinct brand presence. This experience allowed me to meld creativity with professional design skills and make a meaningful contribution to the publication's visual storytelling.
Kidcam Camps
August 2021 - August 2022 (Seasonal)
During my time at Kidcam Camps, I thrived as a Camp Counselor, collaborating with a team of four fellow counselors to ensure the well-being and enjoyment of over 40 children during daily field trips across Louisiana. My role extended beyond supervision, as I also played a key part in planning field trips, managing payroll, and coordinating bus logistics, contributing to a seamless and memorable camp experience for all participants.

As a freelance photographer in the vibrant New Orleans area, I embarked on a self-managed journey, capturing memorable moments through portraits, event photography, and senior casuals, all offered at accessible rates. Over the course of my work, I consistently delivered over 200 high-quality photographs to each of my valued clients, ensuring that their special moments were beautifully preserved and cherished for years to come.
